A Chinese satellite somewhat suddenly entered a house in China upon its return to Earth.

The fact that it hit a house from its originating nation leads me to believe that they had some control over its descent (unlike, say, http://procrastinators.org/archives/2004/09/22/probes-and-planets/). But if that’s the case, then why did they choose to land it on their country? I mean, why not send it down on Taiwan or something?
