This guy’s TV emitted an emergency signal that caused his life to turn, briefly, into a real police-search-and-rescue show.

The signal was passed on by satellite to what would ordinarily be the proper authorities. Shortly thereafter, all kinds of law enforcement and rescue personnel descended upon his apartment, expecting to find some form of distressed yacht on the premesis (presumably in the bathtub?)

All were surprised to find out the distress call came from a measely flat screen TV. No one is sure why the TV would suddenly start to call for help. My theory is that it got tired of the type of programs it had to show all the time. Or maybe AV receiver was hitting on it?
